"Be Where Your At"
My sister-in-law Amy tells of a yoga teacher who once said, "Be where your at.... on the mat." It didn't matter that she said the part about "on your mat," because Amy had already had a profound moment with the "Be where your at" part.

Sometimes it's difficult to be where your at. Today is one of those days for me. Discouragement is in the air and I'm trying not to breathe it in. Writing is good medicine for me. When I'm done with this entry I will work on my book - trying to remember that passing moods are no excuse to stop expressing oneself.

for me...a passing mood is just another perfect time for expressing myself...be where you're at!

"Life is meant to move through your body - sitting on it causes emptiness and longing. Surrendering to the flow of life takes you to your destiny."

I wonder why it is so difficult to accept the flowing/everchanging nature of life. To surrender and "be where you are at" is so challenging. We try to halt change, and resist the flow with tightened fists (which accurately stated above just causes great pain).

I have experienced floating along with life, accepting what comes and being truly present with it. Those experiences have always been so nourishing and beyong my wildest dreams. And I have also experienced the pain that resistance causes. Yet I find that even with my own proof of the joy surrendering brings, I struggle to muster the courage to place my faith in the unknown.
