Seems to me, if we individually focus our intention on doing the very best we can to love ourselves, each other, the animals and the environment, then with focus, intention eventually becomes action and individual eventually becomes collective...love breeds love... I've been told and have found it to be true to some extent that I live in an idealistic world inside my head. But to that I say, what's wrong with that? Ideal is a great place to start from and end with. Everything in between keeps me humble and is simply progress, one way or the other.
I believe in order to have world peace, we need to lose our superficial motives for why we want world peace. People want world peace so we won't go to war, what about wanting peace so we can truly become friends? People want world peace so our gas won't be as expensive or because they're afraid of having another terrorist attack. Everyone has a motive and I believe until we lose all motives and focus simply on building everlasting relationships, the thought of world peace will continue to be a misty thought. When I'm at peace within myself, I genuinely love myself. When people talk of world peace, they just want to feel safe. They don't care about being loved and they don't care about loving the opposition.
i agree. world peace has to begin with every individual and how they feel about themselves. we are responsible for not only loving ourselves but for loving our neighbor, good or bad, loving the world we live in and realizing all the blessings we are given daily. respecting and tolerating differences in individuals, cultures, and religions is necessary to live in peace. lg
Today's Daily Word - Sunday, May 28, 2006 Circulate Good I am divine love in expression toward all creation. There is an ongoing circulation of good. We feel that good as we open a window to a fresh flowing breeze. We are nourished by food that has been grown by farmers miles away. We circulate good by passing along furniture and clothes within our families and to other families and individuals. Sharing from God’s spirit within, there is always something we can give and receive in a circulation of good. There is a perpetual blessing of love that is moving from person to person. Through the prompting of God’s love within each of us, we explore even more ways of sharing with one another. We give back to God by being divine love in expression toward all creation. “And the crowds asked him, ‘What then should we do?’ In reply he said to them, ‘Whoever has two coats must share with anyone who has none; and whoever has food must do likewise.’”—Luke 3:10-11
I truly think that world peace is not something that is attainable, ever. While we can find inner peace and even peacful times, with the amount of diversity in our world and the simple fact that we are all unique, there will always be conflict. It is part of how we evolved. Not how we were made, but how we evolved.
Each day I search for and try to find inner peace and beauty. From there I believe that by being thoughtful, kind, aware and living life with intention and integrity we can make a difference....

Circulate Good
I am divine love in expression toward all creation.
