My daughter has been out of town all week and it's been just me and Mucci, my four legged companion who's too chill for words. It's been an interesting time of reflection and peace. As synchronicity would have it, a friend sent me a CD called The Science of Getting Rich - thanks Sundar! My initial response to the title was along the lines of, "I'm about more than money.." But being in this place of openness and growth, I gave it a listen.
I'm here to tell you that it is the only message I've heard on wealth that has made deep down sense to me. Below are some nuggets the author (Wallace Wattles) shares:
- The desire for wealth is a desire for growth and expansion which is the nature of life.
- Getting rich on the competitive plane hurts everyone.
- When we rise up to the creative plane of thought, getting rich adds more life to everyone.
- There is an infinite amount of intelligent, formless substance therefore we can all be rich.
- The only way to lift the world out of poverty is by demonstrating creative wealth.
- Holding on to "The Truth" despite appearances allows the creative mind to work for you.
I hope you all have a wonderful weekend! I for one am excited for my bundle of joy to return home to momma!

I "try" to follow these simple rules. Sometimes I can get caught up in the competition; however, I do try. In my professional life I am breaking the mold for my industry and doing things differently than the competition. Some people ask me "why don't you follow the proven formula" (in my industry that would be building pink stucco houses with red tile roofs) and for me it is simple; I am not passionate about that. Yes, I could make a lot more money that way. However, I believe this would be short term. Making a name for my self is as important as making money. I also want to leave a legacy. I want my children to be able to drive their children by the projects I have touched and say look at this!!!
Fundamentally I believe people can make money doing anything they are passionate about. For some that is what drives them. Even the Bill Gates of the world began with an idea that they were passionate about. Think of the things in our lives that have come from the creativity of Mr. Gates. Who knows we may not even have been able to share our messages with each other in this way without the uniqueness he has brought to our lives. Yes, he is the wealthiest person in the world (financially speaking) and there is nothing wrong with that. He can have in his life anything that money can buy, but who knows if he is happy (I believe he just might be). He and my best friend Bono have given a lot to the world with there celebrity and money (probably not as much as Earth Wind and Fire (inside joke for Kim)).
I guess that I'm rambling; so, I'll sign off now. In summary, I agree whole heartedly with Wallace Wattles and Kim. However, there is nothing wrong with financial success. Some people might be passionate about "little pink houses," I'm just not one of them. Enjoyable post Kev! Thanks for sharing your thoughts, as you certainly bring unique vision to everything you do.
BTW, Mezzo is spectacular!
i am honored that you found value in something i shared.
love,
sundar
p.s: mucci is so cute!
Sundar - I always need to know the "why" behind the what. Movies like "The Secret" always left me feeling like something was missing from the approach. My life's work is about teaching and learning principles that proliferate the flow of life. The ideas set forth in The Science of Getting Rich are in complete alignment with my personal philosophy and beliefs about the nature of life. Thanks again:)
